Do you rent bikes?

We do not rent bikes directly, but we can help you get set up with a quality rental. There are several great options in Brevard!  We work closely with all of the local shops.

Can you transport bikes for me?

We can!  We typically meet in town and we'll load up the bikes then head to the trails.

What kind of bike do I need?

A good quality modern mountain bike is recommended.  Department store bikes are not recommended for safety reasons.

What should I bring/wear?

A bike of course, or let us help you get a rental set up.  A helmet and water are required.  We suggest bringing snacks as well, you definitely have to fuel your ride!  If you have cycling shorts those are the best, but any kind of athletic shorts will do.  It wouldn't hurt to bring a swim suit if you think a dip in the river sounds like your idea of a good time.  Sturdy shoes are also important, no sandals.  Don't forget seasonal essentials such as bug spray, sunscreen, rain jacket, etc.

Do you work with beginners?

Of course!!  We can help you learn how to shift, brake, and handle your bike on mountain bike trails.  We can do lessons starting in the parking lot and then gradually progressing into more difficult terrain.

Why would I want to hire a mountain bike guide?  I have a map.

Maps and apps are great, no doubt, but if you want to maximize your time riding awesome trails instead of looking at a map, a local guide will make that possible.  We know the best direction to ride the trails, the easiest ways to make loops, trails appropriate for your skill level, the bail out points if something goes wrong, and we take the stress of route finding away from you.  All you have to do is focus on having FUN!  Also, we have first aid training, a satellite communication device for emergency rescue, and extra food & water.

Where can I get a beer?

There are lots of great choices in Brevard!

The Hub & Pisgah Tavern is a combination tap room (8 different rotating taps), bike shop, and outdoors store.  There is usually a food truck out in the parking lot as well.  The Hub is located conveniently at the entrance to Pisgah National Forest.

Canteen is another great spot.  It is located in Cedar Mountain near Dupont.  Lots of rotating taps and a cycling centric atmosphere make it another great hangout.

Also, there are three breweries.  Oskar Blues, Ecusta Brewing Company, & Brevard Brewing Company.

Where should I eat?

Lots of great choices, some of our favorite places are Magpie, Square Root, & The Chubwagon at Oskar Blues.
