UpCountry Brewing: The Townie Bar For All

UpCountry Brewing is located a short walk from downtown Brevard in the Lumberyard District.

One of the hidden gems in Brevard is UpCountry Brewing, aka UpCo. It is an easy walk from Downtown Brevard, and if you want to feel like you are in a townie bar, well, it is one. Many laid-back patrons chat it up, enjoy the game on the bar TV, or play pool. You will find it here to soak up some local knowledge. It has one of the best vibes for bars & breweries anywhere. With 15 beers on tap, they also serve hard liquor for that celebratory shot after a long ride in Pisgah or Dupont. Want to grab some food? It has an outdoor area with a food truck onsite, a firepit, and tons of seating to accommodate a group of any size.

The house IPA is one of 15 beers on tap at UpCo.

But let's talk about the 15 beers on tap at UpCo. They are excellent – they have it down from the house IPA to the Double Double Toil & Trouble and the Feeling Good As Helles Golden Lager. The fine beer you will consume is provided by brew master John Cochran, who has nearly 30 years of brewing experience. They produce hand-crafted brews that can only be found at the location in Brevard, which are nothing short of amazing. They also have a beer selection from other local breweries, but I must say, as a beer consumer, they nail it with the house brews they offer and a selection of 6 packs to go. The beers all have a unique taste and are smooth and not too hoppy.

The atmosphere and friendly service are just one of the perks of UpCountry.

Specifically, the game room has the mentioned pool table, foosball, arcade games, and more. This is a welcome touch to have if you take a date or a large group and want some more entertainment. The week of activities at UpCo also includes Thursday night trivia, and the ambiance of music is from Guns & Roses to Counting Crows.

The game room area has an excellent selection of arcade games, pinball, and foosball.

Behind the game area is a lounge for those wanting to find a quiet area on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Also, you are in the brewery enjoying your cold beer as the beer is brewed adjacent to the bar. You’ll also find Michaela behind the bar serving up cold brews fast. They also have a full line of hoodies and t-shirts to purchase next to the bar, and they are of the highest quality (I love my zip hoodie)

When we say you drink in the brewery - you are in the brewery.
